Step 1: Preparation
- Set Up Your Workspace: Ensure you have a clean, well-lit area to work in. Lay down a towel to catch any nail clippings or product spills.
- Gather All Your Tools: Collect the following items from your kit:
- Manicure set: Nail clippers, file, cuticle pusher, fork tool
- Cuticle Softener Gel
- Lint-free cotton nail wipes
- Sugar Scrub
- Hand & Body Cream
- Cuticle Oil
- 7-way Nail Buffer
- Mini UV/LED Lamp
- Sanitiser
- Acetone Wraps
- Gel Base Coat
- Gel Polish

Step 2: Hand and Nail Care (Manicure)
- Soften Your Cuticles: Apply the Cuticle Softener Gel to your cuticles and let it sit for a minute.
- Push Back Cuticles: Use the Cuticle Pusher and Cuticle Fork Tool to gently push back and clean up the cuticles. Wash off any remaining gel and dry your hands.
- Shape Your Nails:
- Use the Nail Clippers to trim your nails to the desired length.
- Shape them using the Nail File from the manicure set or sides 1, 2 and 3 on your 7-way buffer.
- Buff Your Nails: Use sides 4 to 7 of your 7-way Nail Buffer to smooth and shine the surface of your nails.
- Wipe and Clean Nails: Use the Lint-free Cotton Nail Wipes and Sanitiser to clean any debris or oil from your nails.
Step 3: Gel Polish Application
- Prepare for Gel Application:
- Clean your nails with Lint-free Cotton Wipes and Sanitiser to remove any oils or debris.
- Separate your toes using the Toe Separators to prevent smudging when applying gel to the toe nails.
- Base Coat
- Apply a thin layer of the UNIBASE Gel Base Coat to each nail.
- Do not get the gel onto the cuticles or the skin at the sides of the nails – this will cause your gel to lift. If you go over onto the cuticle or skin, use the pointed tool in you manicure set to clean it up and wipe away carefully with your lint free cotton wipes and sanitiser, being careful not to smudge the gel.
- Cure under the Mini UV/LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
- Gel Colour
- Apply a thin layer of your chosen Gel Polish colour.
- Avoid getting gel onto the cuticle and skin to prevent lifting. If you go over onto the cuticle or skin, use the pointed tool in you manicure set to clean it up and wipe away carefully with your lint free cotton wipes and sanitiser, being careful not to smudge the gel. This must be done BEFORE curing.
- Cure under the Mini UV/LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
- Repeat for a second layer if needed, and cure again.
- Top Coat
- Apply a thin layer of Crystal Clawz Gel Top Coat to seal and protect the gel polish.
- You need to cap the nail when applying the top coat – this means running the brush around the free edge – to prevent lifting and chipping.
- As for base and colour coat – avoid getting gel on the cuticles and skin around the nails. Clean up any excess BEFORE curing.
- Cure under the Mini UV/LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
Step 4: Finishing Touches
- Moisturize:
- Massage Hand & Body Cream into your hands, arms, feet, and legs for soft, hydrated skin.
- Apply Cuticle Oil around your cuticles to keep them nourished and healthy.
- Final Inspection:
- Ensure all nails are smooth, shiny, and free from smudges.
- Enjoy your beautiful, polished manicure and pedicure!
Removing Gel Colour: Your gel polish is a soak off system.
- Remove the shine
- The top coat gives the nails a hard protective coating/seal, along with the shine. To speed up soak-off, gently buff the nails with side 1 or 2 of your 7-way buffer until the shine disappears.
- NEVER use sides 1, 2 or 3 of your 7-way buffer on the top of your natural nail as this will cause thinning of the nail which cannot be repaired, and is painful if you file too much.
- Soak off
- Tear open your Acetone Wraps and place one finger in each wrap, with the nail against the acetone soaked lint. Squeeze the wrap around the finger and wait about 10 minutes.
- Remove a wrap, gently scrape the gel with the rounded end of the cuticle pusher. If the gel does not come off easily, put the wrap back on for a few more minutes.
- Once the gel is removed, gently buff the nails to remove any residue, using sides 4, 5 and 6 of your 7-way buffer. NEVER use a coarse file directly on the surface of your nail as this will damage the nail bed.
- Condition
- If you are not planning to put new gel on immediately, then wipe the nails down with sanitiser and apply some Cuticle oil to the cuticle and nails.
