CARING FOR YOUR BRUSHLESS/CORELESS EFILE
Your efile will last for years if you take proper care. These units represent a significant investment and some simple steps will ensure that they remain trouble free for a very long time
REDUCE RISK TO YOUR EQUIPMENT
Reduce the risk of damage by switching off equipment such as lamps and efiles BEFORE a scheduled Load-shedding takes place.
Also take care to shut down all electronic equipment and unplug from the wall socket. The strong surge of power coming back can damage sensitive electronic equipment, even if it is switched off on the appliance.
In addition to shutting down and unplugging equipment during planned outages, it is very important to invest in a good quality surge protector.
A high quality surge protector will also protect from both blackouts and brownouts – check with a local electrical appliance retailer near you or search online. A good quality surge protector can be quite expensive, but it is worth the cost when the alternative is to keep replacing your equipment.
DO NOT leave rechargeable units permanently plugged in and DO NOT use rechargeable efiles while they are plugged as this damages the Lithium Ion battery. The battery will accept less charge, until it no longer charges at all.
“Blackouts” vs “Brownouts”
“Blackouts” are a complete power outage, like load shedding, or the grid going down – you know you’re in a blackout because you have no power. The power surge when the power comes back online can cause severe damage to appliances.
Then there are the “Brownouts”. You will have power, but it is unstable. “Brownouts” cause surges and dips by delivering either too much or too little power. These brownouts can cause long-term damage to equipment and you cannot predict them because you don’t know when it is happening. They can cause a kind of “electrical erosion” that eventually irreversibly damages your equipment.
USAGE TIPS TO PRESERVE YOUR SPINDLE
(the part that the bit is inserted into and in turn connects to the motor)
Spindles will wear out over time, but should last for in excess of 2 years if you follow these guidelines
NEVER leave the efile without a safety bit or drill bit in the unit. This can cause the locking mechanism on the spindle end to lock and jam – this cannot be fixed, the spindle has to be replaced
When using the efile, only the lightest of pressure should be applied – if you are using the correct bit and speed, the bit should glide over the nail with very little pressure. Excess pressure causes damage to the spindle
Always use sharp bits – blunt bits need extra pressure to get the job done and is not only uncomfortable for the client, but damages the spindle
Make sure the shaft of your bit is not bent – this causes the bit to bounce and again, damages the spindle.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
BRUSHLESS AND CORELESS EFILES
These units DO NOT HAVE TO BE CLEANED. The handpiece is a sealed unit and nail dust should not be getting into the unit.
WARNING: If you open the handpiece for any reason, be VERY careful. The lock/unlock collar conceals a section with tiny ball bearings. These will pop out if the collar is removed and are very difficult to get back in without the correct tools. They are also very easy to lose because they are so small
The handpiece will become noisy if the spindle is starting to wear out. At this stage, you should contact us to make an appointment for a service and part replacement.

Returns
If you are not completely satisfied, simply return the items to us in their original condition and packaging within 30 days of receipt and we will issue a credit which can be used to place a new order.
Exchanges
The item must be unused and in original, resaleable condition. Packaging should be returned in an undamaged condition with the item.
